What Our Customers Think
Why We Love Baldwin, NY
About Baldwin
Baldwin, New York, is a hamlet and census-designated place located in the town of Hempstead in Nassau County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. The community is named after the Baldwin family, who were early settlers of the area and owned a large amount of land there. Baldwin’s history dates back to the 17th century when it was originally known as ‘Hick’s Neck’ after a local settler, John Hicks. It was later renamed ‘Baldwinsville’, and then shortened to ‘Baldwin’. The area saw significant growth in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, particularly with the arrival of the South Side Railroad in 1867 which provided a direct link to New York City. Today, Baldwin is known for its suburban atmosphere and quality schools.
